75 YEARS OF
THE CONSTITUTIONAL LEGACY

India's Constitution emerged from a remarkable convergence of indigenous wisdom and universal ideals, forged through centuries of social transformation and the crucible of colonial oppression. Crafted in the aftermath of colonial rule, it affirms every citizen’s right to liberty and dignity. Decades later, right found new resonance when the question of liberty arose in an unexpected form: could an ordinary citizen hoist the national flag?

The lore of India’s Flag Satyagrahi:Naveen Jindal

Naveen Jindal waged a decade-long legal battle challenging restrictions on citizens flying the national flag. His persistence led to a landmark 2002 Supreme Court ruling that recognised every Indian's fundamental right to hoist the tricolour. Following this victory, Jindal established the Flag Foundation of India the same year to promote flag etiquette and national awareness.
